Advanced Materials & Manufacturing Technologies Office (AMMTO) Peer Review

Robert Wiacek, accompanied by Tobias Gellen, Ph.D. and Marjeta Fusha, had the opportunity to present a talk on their work titled “Protective Coatings that Manufacture Themselves for High Performance Applications”. This talk emphasized the impact of their work on extending the service life of machines, reducing manufacturing costs, enabling the design of smaller, less expensive machines, and improving fuel efficiency through the use of low-viscosity base oils. This review allowed leading technology experts from industrial and academic sectors to present their current work dedicated to domestic manufacturing competitiveness and decarbonization. Rob and team did a fantastic job demonstrating this technology’s strategic and operational effectiveness to enhance industrial efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
